Waratah’s Tour
Big Rugby at Eden Park
Large Crowd Views First Match
THERE was a crowd of about 20,000 at Eden Park this afternoon when the New South Wales Rugby team played the first match of its tour, meeting' the Auckland representative side.
Two curtain-raisers, one commencing at 12.30 p.m., between the Hikurangi and Mount Roskill primary schools, and another at 1.30 p.m., between the Ponsonby and Eden third grade teams, provided football of a standard sufficient to keep the large crowd interested until the big game commenced. Injuries suffered by L. Hook on the Southern tour will keep him out of the Auckland team to-day, his place being filled by J. Stuart. Present indications point to a hard and fast game. THE TEAMS
