COMPLETE PROGRAMME OF TOUR AND SCORE SHEET
Pars About the Players The English Leaguers played their third and final test against New Zealand at Christchurch this afternoon. An exhibition game between England and New Zealand was played at Invercargill last Wednesday, New Zealand winning by 27 points to 26. Jonathan Parkin, captain of the English team, injured his thumb while playing in Australia. He made his first appearance on the field since his injury, last Wednesday. He played brilliantly. Jim Brough, who left England as a full-back, commenced to play centre-threequarter during the tour of Australia. He has played well in his new position and was outstanding in the second test game. To date, the Englishmen have played seven games in New Zealand and have lost one (exhibition game excluded). Sullivan, the crack full-back, has been remarkably consistent as a goal kick in the games he has played both in Australia and New Zealand. Billo Rees and Parkin are England’s two crack halves. Evans, who took Parkin’s place while he was on the injured list, is also a very versatile player. Ellaby, the speedy winger, has not hit form during the tour of the Dominion. He was not included in the team which met New Zealand to-day.
A.fter the third test at Christchurch, the English team will return to Auckland, where it is expected to arrive on Monday morning, August 27, to leave by the mail steamer Niagara, on September 1.
