AT MORNING TEA

COMMUNITY CLUB ENTERTAINS HELPERS SUNSHINE SCHOOL At a morning tea at the Lewis Eady llall, given by the Community Sunshine Association to those who helped at the street collection, the president stated that the gross total had now reached £786. It was an exceptionally satisfactory amount. Dr. Ludbrook, honorary physician to I the children’s hospital, attended and ; outlined the scheme of the Sunshine School. He stated that a delicate child or one that had been suffering from any complaint was in need of special attention before resuming its normal life, and that sunshine treatment was a necessity. He thought that the association was the body best fitted to do this work. The child would go for the daytime hours only; there would be a nurse in attendance, medical supervision, and appropriate meals would be served, and some treatment, sunlight and otherwise, would be administered. Mrs. Ferner said that she was verv grateful for all the splendid work done. The public gave in a very fine spnut, and the workers were very enthusiastic after their hard day’s work. TJ^ e highest sum procured was at the J.C.L. stand and reached £lO5 6s the " e * fc amount was at Milne and Choyce, £BJ 2s; there were several other stations that did remarkably well and showed splendid organisation. , M r - S - Parry sang “A Spirit Song” and Oil, to be in England.” Before tea was served little Miss Beverly Babbmgton, on behalf of the ladies’ committee, presented Mrs. Ferner with a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers. Hearty applause was given for Mesdames Taylor and Miller and other women associated, also for Mr. Brownlee and filr. Nqton, who so kindly gave their services.
