WATERED MILK
VENDOR FINED £1 W. H. Andrews was fined £1 and costs at the Magistrate’s Court this morning for selling watered milk. The excuse offered was that an employee had watered the milk without Mr. Andrews’s knowledge. The only explanation of his conduct was that he had been too lazy to milk the cow - properly and had made up tie- deficiency with water. That employee had sinco been dismissed and there had been no more trouble. Mr. Hubble, who appeared for the Health Department, said that M Andrews had told an officer of th*- Department that he was unable to account for the water in the milk and had asked for an inspector to go out to his place to see whether he could account for the adulteration. Mr. Andrews had said that the employee concerned had confessed t. >:»t he had watered the milk, but that :t had been an accident.
