NELSON ST. SCHOOL SOLD FOR £5,000

FOR SUNSHINE SCHOOL PLAY ASSOCIATION’S PURCHASE The old Nelson Street School and the freehold site offered by the Education Board, v/ere sold at auction by Mr. C. F. Bennett today for £5,000. The buyer was Mr. A. IT. Court on j behalf •of the Community and Sun- ! shine Association, with which is incorporated the Play and Recreation Association. There was an attendance of about 15, including Mrs. N. E. Fcrner, president of the association. Only one bid was offered, and the j building and section, the latter being j 186 ft by 192 ft, were knocked down at | £5,000. Mrs. Ferncr afterwards stated that j they were satisfied with the price, but , the building and section were not worth more. The building will be used as a children’s club and as a sunshine school for children who are not well enough to go to an ordinary school.
