£4OO IN CLOTHES
LANDLADY’S DISCOVERY (Special to THE SUH) Dl. XE DIN, Thursday. On going through the clothing of a deceased returned soldier who had lodging with her, a boardinghousekeeper discovered £ 400, £ 100 of which was in notes. She immediately took the money to Mr. J. M. White, secretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association, who handed it to the Public Trustee for safe keeping. The ex-soldier had no near relatives in Dunedin, and it was thought he had no property other than a tin case, which had been handed to his relatives.
