STRANGE CATTLE DISEASE

NORTH AUCKLAND ALARM QUESTIONS IN HOUSE (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, To-day. The attention of the Minister of Agriculture was called by Mr. D. Jones to an alarming sickness that has recently appeared among North Auckland dairy cattle. The disease particularly affected cattle just come to profit and several pedigree beasts had been lost. “The malady is entirely strange to farmers and veterinary surgeons,” said Mr. Jones. “Can the Minister throw any light on it?” The Hon. O. J. Hawken said that reports of the disease had reached the department, but there was no definite information. He hoped to supply it later.
