GIFTS TO CHARITY

SIX BENEFIT BY LEGACY £I,OOO FOR BLIND INSTITUTE Under the will of the late Mr. Alexander Bell, a pioneer farmer of the Rangitikei and Waikato districts, who died at Remuera on July 24, bequests totalling £2,400 have been made to various Auckland institutions. The bequests are: Evelyn Firth Home, £500; Somervell Presbyterian Church, £500; Auckland Hospital, £500; £500; Leslie Orphanage, £300; Sisters of the Poor, £IOO. The Jubilee Institute for the Blind has received another donation of £SOO. The money has been given by Mr. John Marshall, of Remuera Road, who a year or two ago gave a similar sum to the institute. The £SOO will be placed to the credit of the capital account.
