RATES AT DEVONPORT The town clerk of Devonport has compiled a return indicating that more ratepayers were able this year to take advantage of the council’s offer of a rebate for prompt payment of rates. Over 55.3 per cent, of the total rate levy has been received as against 59.4 at the same period last year. Out of the total rate of £39,537, £20,802 have been paid in and £I,OBB allowed in rebate.
