MASQUERADE BALL
RITZ CLUB FANCY DRESS DANCE TV'itli the Ritz Revellers making; merry music, masked and fancy dressed dancers had a bright time in the Foresters’ Hall, Devonport, last evening, when the Ritz Club held its first masquerade * ball. The hall was gaily decorated, and spotlights flickering in and out gave the necessary touch of the mysterious. Miss Kathleen O'Connor and her partner gave exhibition dances as a break in the programme. The supper room was warmly decorated in reds and gold. Prizes for the most original dancers went to Miss W. Bradfield, “Creme de Menthe,” and Mr. Stretton, “Brigand.” Among those present were: Mrs. Bourdot, in a. berry brown crepe de chine frock. Mrs. G. Sinton, nut brown crepe de chine. jMrs. M. NLC.O.’s and men of C Company, Waikato Regiment, took place in the Parish Hall, Te Kuiti, on Friday evening. A number of visitors were present from Hamilton, among whom were Captain Dittmar, M.C., X.Z.S.C., and Mrs. Dittmar, Captain W. H. Allen, Waikato Regiment, and SergeantMajor Cully. The women members of the committee were: Mesdames Jordan, Holah, Hedley, Evans, McKenzie, Jackson, Dunkley, Collings, Douglas. Fowle, Misses Fleming, Boles and Vercoe. The grand march, in which all present took part, including territorials and cadets in uniform, was headed by Captain Dittmar and Mrs. Jordan, head of the ladies* committee. LYCEUM CLUB j BRIDGE CIRCLE MEETS There was a good attendance of members at the meeting of the bridge circle, held in the Lyceum Club lounge, yesterday afternoon. Violets and other spring flowers decorated tlie room and tall vases of arum lilies provided effective contrast. Among the players were Mrs. Wicksteed, Miss F. Murray, Mrs. Duncan Clark, Mrs. H. R.
