Masonic Ball at Ngaruawahia
Many Visitors From Other Districts BRIGHT FUNCTION On Friday evening Lodge Te Manama, of Ngaruawahia, gave a most enjoyable ball. Streamers and flags transformed the hall, and the stage, decked in the white and blue Masonic colours, and ferns, was arranged as a drawing room. Good music was supplied by Clayton’s Orchestra. W.M., W. Bro. R. B. Gerring and Mrs. Gerring, S.W., Bro. G. E. Hall, and Mrs. Hall received the many guests, who came from all parts of the district. Among those present were:— Mrs. It. 13. Gerring was in pink beaded georgette and ermine stole. Mrs. G. E. Hall, who wore a frock of black georgette. Mrs. 1-1. D. Sampson, in cameo pink georgette. Mrs. 1-1. J. TEACHER HONOURED FAREWELL FUNCTION Before her departure to a position at the Lower Ilutt Manual Training Centre, Miss Z. E. Wild, who has been attached to the staff of the Pukekohe Technical High School for the past two and a-half years, was met on Friciay by her colleagues and presented ZV T C n case by the principal, jui. vv. I. j. Munro. From the pupils Miss Wild received a silver manicure set and a silvermounted powder bowl, the presentation being made by the head girl, Miss Marcella Dromgool. Expressions of regret at her departure, and best wishes for her future were made by the head boy, Mastcr G. Zmzan. ST. CLASS „A. Ca £ acity house greeted the efforts at fT ®eorge’s Bible-class, Papatoetoe, at the Town Hall, Papatoetoe, on Friday evening- when a very enjoyable programme of musical items dances and sketches was presented. The funds are to be devoted to St. George’s Sunclay School Kindergarten. The isation of the function was in the capable hands of Mrs. F. 11. Leonard and Miss I loss Trimble. After the opening chorus, “Home to the Fair,” had been given by tVie members of the class, the following programme was contributed: Nelson Morey, violin solo; Miss Nancj' Hoy, and Miss K. Edwards, elocutionary items; Ralph and Jessie TVyman. song and dialogue: Misses Valda and Ngaire Burrill Highland Fling; Miss Floss Trimble, song; Miss K. Wakelin, pianoforte solo; Misses B. Wyman, E. Trimble, T. Morey and Z. Richards, The Seasons; Gladys McCauley, solo dance; Misses I. Barton, V. Burrill, G. Fitness, T. Richards, and G. Brice, humorous selections.
