DIVORCES GRANTED
UNDEFENDED PETITIONS WIFE’S RETURN ORDERED On the ground of mutual separation I Thomas David Carroll (Mr. Dickson) j sought dissolution of his marriage with j Ellen Elizabeth Carroll, at the Supreme Court this morning. The marriage took place in Welling- j ton in October, 1922. There were no ! children. They agreed to separate in : January, 1925/ and had not lived together sinefe. Mr. Justice Reed granted a decree nisi, * * * On similar grounds Ruby Christina Stevens (Mr. Hall Skelton) was granted a divorce from Arthur Lea Stevens. The marriage took place in Auckland in September, 1913. There was one child. The two agreed to separate in January, 1923, and had livevl apart since then. Petitioner was given custody of the child. Costs were allowed against respondent. Her husband’sfailure to comply with an order to return gave Mary Bridget Thorby (Mr. Hall Skelton) grounds for petitioning for divorce from John Edward Thorby. They married in June, 1922. There were no children. The husband later left home and she had sued him several times for maintenance. Last May the Court ordered his return, but he ignored the ord°r. A decree nisi was granted. An absent wife, Eva Gladys Tostevin, was ordered to return to William Edward Tostevin (Mr. Hall Skelton) within 14 days. They were married in Auckland in September, 1924. Over two years ago she left him and all I efforts have failed to induce her to return.
