TEACHERS’ DEGREES

S. Conway, of Manchester University, at a luncheon given him by the Canterbury College Board of Governors, in urging that all school teachers should have University degrees. “The Dominion leads the world in some things,” continued the professor. “It was the first to give suffrage to women. Why do you not insist that any one who has not a University degree shall teach in your schools?”
