“THE BUSH CINDERELLA”
BIG NEW ZEALAND FILM That New Zealand, too, can produce films' of a high artistic standard, entertaining and beautifully photographed, will be eloquently shown on Friday when “The Bush Cinderella,” Rudall Hayward’s latest feature production, will have its first New Zealand presentation. This is a New Zealand story and all the cast are “our ain folk” —New Zealanders or Australians. Not only is it a New Zealand story, but a modern one, at that —a great modern drama of the backblocks, of life in the wayback country as we know it and love it. The story was written by Mr. Henry Hayward, and depicts one that might be that of any New Zealand farming family. It is filled with laughter and tears, romance and intrigue, beauty and action.
Dale Austeh, our own star, chosen by the people, is seen in the leading role, that of “Cinderella,” a little orphan living with a happy-go-lucky country family. Mr. Cecil Scott has the leading male role, that of the handsome Lieutenant Harrison.
