Commercial Banks Improve
A HEALTHY tone is maintained in the market for all the better class securities on ’Change.
Commercial Banks hardened yesterday afternoon to see business at 31s. New Zealands are very firm, with buyers in at 60s 9d and no sellers. Unions of Australia have strengthened to see sellers at £ls ss, supported by buyers at £ls 2s. Nationals are featured in the insurance section, sales being recorded at 16s 6d at this morning’s early call, a price 4d in advance oE last week’s closing price. The market for shares in companies dealing with the farming community has a very healthy tone, registering a decided upward tendency in many instances. Farmers’ Trading scrip is moving toward par, with sellers hard to locate. North Auckland Farmers’ continue to register an upward tendency.
Auckland Amusement Parks found a market at 5s 6d this morning, sellers and buyers withdrawing after the sale. The demand for Government and local body bonds continues very strong and every movement is upward. Sellers are hard to locate. Business yesterday afternoon; On ’Change—Commercial Bank, 31s. Reported—Northern Steam (con.), 6s 9d; N.Z. Farmers’ Fertilisers, Sos. Business at this morning’s early call; On ’Change—Dominion Pictures, 225. Reported—National Insurance, 16s Cd. Business at mid-day: On 'Change— Robinson’s Ice Cream, 22s 6d. Reported—Auckland Amusement Park, 5s 6d.
