THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY

COMPANY ACTIVITIES A report showing a most satisfactory season’s operations was presented to the annual meeting of shareholders in the Tatua Dairy Co., Ltd. Mr. U. Darrell presided. The chairman stated that the output had been sold up to Christmas at Bid, and the remainder at a higher rate. At the beginning of the year some suppliers urged the directors to accept an offer of Bd. If this had been done the company would have been £2,000 worse off. The retiring directors, Messrs. J. Hart and A. J. Luxton, were returned unopposed. The resignation of Mr. W. C. Woodley, owing to ill-health, was accepted with regret. At the annual meeting of the Kakepuku Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., wrich operates a cheese factory at Pokuru, near Te Awamutu. considerable discussion arose over low grading of some of the cheese made, and it was stated that suppliers must adopt scrupulous cleanliness in the milking sheds and only feed turnips judiciously. The directors were authorised to introduce grading of milk, with differing payments, if the trouble is not remedied voluntarily. Messrs. S. H. West and A. E. Ray were re-appointed directors. At a subsequent meeting of directors. Mr. B. H. Budden was unanimously re-elected chairman. WHEAT IN ARGENTINE BIG AREAS SOWN (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z.
