CYCLIST INJURED

COLLISION WITH CAR VICTIM IN HOSPITAL (From Our uwn Correspondent) PAPAKURA, Sunday. A serious collision took place on Saturday between a motor-car and a bicycle In Great South Hoad, Papakura. The driver of the motor-car, Mr. S. McHale, was proceeding toward Auckland and overtook the Auckland-bound bus. He was passing it on the right side when he came into violent collision with a bicycle ridden by Henry Jinks, aged 19, of 3 Pinch Street* Momingside, who was accompanied by Clarence Ducker, also on a bicycle. Mr. Jinks sustained a compound fracture of the right leg just below the knee, a badly bruised left knee, right arm and shoulder. His friend escaped injury. Tluß bicycle was badly smashed and the off-side head lamp of the motor-car was smashed. Mr. Jinks was conveyed by the motorist to Dr. Basil Page, where first aid was rendered. The patient was afterwards taken to the Auckland Hospital by the owner of the car.
