GRANGE ROAD CHURCH

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES TWO SPECIAL ADDRESSES “The Vision of Joshua” was the title of an impressive address delivered by the Rev. L. H. Hunt at the Grange Road Baptist Church yesterday morning on the occasion of the 24th anniversary services. The minister of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church took as the three points of his sermon, “The Certainty of Conflict,” “The Certainly of Uncertainty,” and “The Certainty of Ultimate Triumph.” In the evening the Rev. E. N. Goring, president of the Auckland Auxiliary Baptist Union, expounded the incident of the healing of the lame man at the temple gate. He said that the evidence of true church life and work was healthy experience. The Rev. A. S. Wilson, pastor of the church, in expressing gratitude for the successes of the year, announced that news had been received from London that three church members had won by examination the diploma of Christian Endeavour Expert. The choir, under Mr. R. S. Abel, gave special items, and Miss Twentyman officiated at the pipe organ. A successful day was concluded by the pastor conducting a largely-attended communion service at which the newlyelected elders, deacons and deaconesses were welcomed to office.
