THEFTS OF PLAYERS’ CLOTHES Favourable replies were received at a meeting of the Rugby Union Management Commitee, presided over by Mr. H. Fro.st last evening, from sports bodies which had been approached by the union in regard to taking protective measures to prevent the theft of players’ clothes from dressing rooms. Mr. Frost said that a combined committee would wait on the Parks Committee of the City Council on Tuesq’A. W T e . ek - Messrs. H. Frost and A. fet.c. Belcher were appointed to represent the union. A grant of £ 5 was made to the Referees’ Association to assist a team of referees in travelling to Helensville, where a match vrill be played against Kaipara juniors on September It was reported by the Junior Management Board that the fifth grade had been declared closed with the Marists team as winners. A letter of congratulation will he forwarded by the union to the Marists Club. Mr. A. Baker and Mr. ,R. Cooper were appointed managers of the Auckland representative team to play Bay of Plenty at Eden Park on Satu rd ay. The following names were submitted by the Referees’ Association to be considered by the Bay of Plenty Union for the election of a referee for the Auckland v.
