ST. JAMES THEATRE
“LEAGUE OF NOTIONS” REVUE The “League of Notions” Revue Company, which is proving a great attraction at St. James Theatre, plays its first production for the last time this evening. To-morrow evening there will bo a complete change of programme. Mike Connors and Queenie Paul, who head the company, are indefatigable workers and sure laugh-getters. Syd Beck, the principal comedian, is one of the most original of humorists and his combination with Ernie Paulasto is delightful. Mr. Les Pearce lifts a melodious voice in song. His ‘‘Yeomen of England” was excellently sung. Miss Valerie Rougal and Miss Gladys Shaw are two exceedingly useful members of the company who dance and sing and act with equal ease. Miss Phyliss Baker and Mr. Bert Rayne specialise in the dance, tripping measures grave and gay with rhythmic grace. Then there is Linn Smith and his jazz band, a syncopated organisation which has delighted Auckland on more than one occasion.
