JACK ORBELL JOINS RADIO, LTD. When radio was spoken of in hushed whispers in New Zealand and those who experimented in it were regarded as cranks, one of the leading experimenters was Mr. Jack Orbell, and he was one of the first, if not the first, to operate a transmitting set in this country. As broadcasting developed, Mr. Orbell joined the staff of the broadcasting company as one of its principal engineers, and did much of the company’s technical work. He was in charge at Christchurch and later at Auckland. Mr. Orbell, who is one of the outstanding men in radio to-day, has now joined the staff of Radio, Ltd., as constructional engineer.
