DIVORCES GRANTED
HUSBAND ORDERED TO RETURN On the grounds of desertion Charles George Stanley (Mr. Singer) petitioned the Supreme Court this morning for divorce from Sheila Adelaide Frances Stanley. The two were married in June, 1923, in Australia. They came to live in Auckland, and the wife became dissatisfied. In 1925 they returned to Sydney, and after a few days the respondent left, and the petitioner failed to find her. Mr. Justice Blair granted a decree nisi. An order for restitution of conjugal rights within 30 days was made against William Francis McMahon on the petition of Ida Victoria Clucline McMahon (Mr. Hickson). Petitioner said her husband left her in June last and had remained away ever since. He had no justification for doing so. She had written to him asking him to return, but he had refused. Hesertion on the part of her husband enabled Maria Catherine Bright (Air. Hanna) to obtain divorce from William George Bright. The action was undefended, but Air. Singer watched the proceedings on behalf of the respondent. Evidence showed that last session the husband had brought a petition on the grounds of mutual separation. The petition was, however, dismissed. A a the result of the admission then made by the husband the present petition had been brought by the wife. They were married in Alav, 1899, and there were six children. Respondent had left in 1920, and could not be induced to return.
