Mrs. Sweetapple, of Auckland, is a visitor to Christchurch. Miss Bailey, of Remuera, is paying a visit to friends at Tirau. Mrs. Mappin and Miss Mappin have gone to Mount Cook for a holiday. Miss Nancy Colbeck is the guest of Mrs. McMillan Bull. Coromandel. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Mills arrived in Auckland this morning from Wellington. Mrs. S. Gordon has returned to Christchurch from an extended visit to Auckland. Mrs. P. C. .Davis returned to New Plymouth last week from a visit, to Auckland. * * * Mrs. F. McKenzie, of Dil worth Avenue, Remuera, is on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. G. Ferguson, of Remuera, left for Rotorua this morning for a long holiday visit. Mrs. Carrick Robertson and Miss foan Carrick Robertson have left for t visit to Mount Cpojt. Mrs. Hayter Ferguson will return to Auckland to-morrow, after spending some days in Wellington. Mrs. Scantlebury and Miss Hilda Hardley returned to Auckland yesterday from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. F. Macky, of Auckland, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. James Taylor, of “Bardowie,” Cambridge. Mrs. Nello Porter motored back to Auckland yesterday from Rotorua, where she had been spending a holiday. Miss Erica Pabst, Miss Upton, Miss Rainger and Miss Wells left town last week to spend a holiday at Mount Cook. Miss Brown, who has been spending several weeks in Hamilton as the guest of Mrs. J. Williams and Mrs. Sergei, has returned to Auckland. Miss Dorothy Crystal, of Christchurch, who recently returned from England, is visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Miss Eileen Culling, Remuera. * * * Miss Rita Newman and Miss B. Baigent, of Nelson, who have been the guests of Mrs. C. M. Rich-White, of Raliiri Road, left for the South last evening by the Limited. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY MOVIES AND DANCING A gay tlirohg of folk met at the Theatre Royal, Manurewa on Friday evening, in answer to the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hand, who gave a unique party in honour of the coming of age of their son Frederick. The first part of the evening was taken up with couple of very enjoyable motion pictures, after which the floor was cleared, and the evening was devoted to dancing to music supplied by Mr. A. Donaldson. Mr. Stan Fowler acted as M.C., and during tbe evening expressed the appreication the guests felt for Mr. and Mrs. Hand’s delightful entertainment. The supper tables were daintily decorated with spring flowers and palms, and the electric lights glowed under shades of pale tints. Mrs. Hand i*eceived the guests gowned in amber shaded georgette, daintily appliqued in white, worn with an Egyptian shawl. Among those present were: Mrs. C. A. Grinrod, wearing bronze gold lace, with relief of nattier blue. Mrs. Russell, frock of delph satin luzor, with touches of gold. Mrs. S. Oddfellows Dance Mauku Brethren Entertain Friends BRIGHT FUNCTION The Mauku brethren of the Loyal Pukekohe Lodge, Manchester Unity of Oddfellows, held a most successful dance in the Mauku Victory Hall, there being a large attendance of members of the order and friends. Delightful music was played by the “Black Cat" Orchestra, extras being played by Misses M. Peterson and M. Woods. The master of ceremonies was Mr. A. V. Hill. Reeve, bois de rose satin crepe. “BLUES” PRESENTED DANCE AT UNIVERSITY At a dance at the University College on Saturday evening, Mr. A. B. Thompson, president of the Students’ Association, presented “blues’* to members of the senior hockey, tennis, football, boxing, debating, cricket, and basketball teams. The dance was the last of the year, owing to examinations next term. Among those who were present were: Mrs. O’Shea, who wore green crepe de chine and gold lace. Miss R.
