LETTER-BOX RIFLED
TELEPHONE CABINET BROKEN THEFT AT ONEHUNGA A telephone cabinet at the corner of Grey and Queen Streets, Onehunga, and a letter-box near the tramway workshops, Manukau Road, Epsom, were rifled last night. The hauls were propably small. Only pennies were deposited in t£ie cabinet, which was last cleared on August 7, and the amount would not be more than a few shillings. The letter-box was cleared soon after 10 o’clock last night, and it is not likely that much correspondence was put in after that hour. A few weeks ago a letter-box on thjp •ame corner as the telephone cabinet Was rifled.
A Jemmy was apparently used at the Cabinet, but the mechanism was not interfered with, although the front of the iron containing box had been removed. A chisel was probably used to prise open the letter-box door.
