ANNOUNCEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER AUCKLAND PROVISIONS

“We have this morning arranged to start further relief works, which will absorb 2QO more men,” said the Prime Minister, the R,t. Hon. J. G. Coates, to The Sun this morning. This decision was reached after the Prime Minister had seen local representatives ot the Labour Department. No special big work will be put in hand, and the men will be spread over a number of works of varied character. The expressed opinion of Mr. Coates was that the unemployed position this year was about the same as it was last winter.
