GOOD TRADE BALANCE

COMMERCE OF AMERICA (United P.A. — Hi/ Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) WASHINGTON, Saturday. It is announced that the foreign trade of the United States for the last half of 1928 was as follows: Exports, £475,400,000; imports, £416,800,000. The favourable balance exceeded by £10,000,000 that of the equivalent period of 1927. Canada was the greatest single purchaser of American goods in the period, with £85,800,000 worth. Australia and New Zealand were fifth, with £16,800,000 worth.
