MASSEY MEMORIAL

MEETING AT PUKEKOHE A meeting of the Franklin Massey Memorial Committee was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. E. Allan presiding. The secretary reported that a sum of £361 14s 7d was in hand, and it was decided to ask the Government for its promised subsidy of £1 for £l. The memorial is to take the form of a scholarship of £l2 10s a year, tenable for two years at the Pukekohe Technical High School and is open to competition to boys and girls attending primary schools within the past or present boundaries of the Franklin electorate. The conditions of examination and eligibility are similar to those of the junior national scholarship. The holder of the scholarship must study an agricultural course at the school. The moneys are to be deposited with the Public Trustee, and the interest utilised for the furnishing of the scholarship.
