TWO-DAY EVENT
AUCKLAND SPRING SHOW DATES A sub-committee of the Auckland Metropolitan A. and P. Association has recommended that the spring show should be for two days, without night proceedings. Yesterday the association fixed the show dates as November 23 and 24. New members elected were Messrs. G. A. Peckliam (Great North Road) and A. Jones (Waiuku). Messrs J. P. Kalaugher, C. W. Anderson and J. W. H. Reynolds were appointed a sub-committee to revise the association’s by-laws. Support was given a suggestion from the Canterbury Association that the date for sheep return figures should b.» altered from April 30 to June 30. It was pointed out that the existing date was some weeks before the close of the freezing season and slaughtering was made more difficult to deal with. The question whether it would be possible for the officers of the Department of Agriculturs to give assistance to dairy farmers in the more common cases of trouble with stock was raised. Mr. Meyer and Mr. S. A. Carr were deputed to bring tile question before Mr. W. T. Collins, head of the livestock division in Auckland.
