TWO LAUNCHES BURNED
Two motor launches owned and used for fishing by Captain Thomas Ross, and anchored in the Wairoa River, were burned to the water’s edge yesterday. The fire brigade answsred a call, but before it arrived a loud explosion occurred, evidently from the overheated benzine tanks, and the two launches sank. The launches were not fully insured, and the owner estimates his loss at £l6O.
