PLAYERS WITH “THE LAUGHING OPTIMIST”

TLXERE are some thumb-nail sketches of members of Percy Hutchinson’s Company, which will tour New Zealand shortly in “The Laughing Optimist”: Violet Ley is the wife of Townsend Whitling, who was here with “The Farmer’s Wife.” She was in Australia with Ethel Irving and “The Farmers* Wife” Company. E. Rayson-Cousens is well known as one of the English “Silver Kings.” He has appeared in most countries and in many parts, more particularly with Marie Lohr and Sir George Alexander. Joan Rogers has played important roles with Henry Baynton, a well-known English Shakespearean actor. She also toured England in “The Wandering Jew.”
