TEACHERS’ SERVICE

INQUIRY INTO BROKEN TIME iTHE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. A recommendation that the whole question of the computation of broken service for teachers’ superannuation should be reopened was conveyed to the Government by the Education Committee yesterday, when reporting to the House on the petition of William Stirling, of Blackball. The committee expressed the opinion that the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration, and several members spoke in support of the finding, expressing the hope that the Government would give effect to both recommendations of the committee. The Minister of Education, Hon. R. A. Wright, said the recommendation would receive consideration.
