APPOINTMENTS IN BRITAIN WAKEFIELD AND CHELMSFORD (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N Z Press Association) (United Service) LONDON, Thursday. The Rev. James B. Seaton, who is a bachelor, has been appointed to the Bishopric of Wakefield, rendered vacant through the resignation of Dr. G. R. Eden. The Rev. Henry A. Wilson has been appointed to the Bishopric of Chelmsford. when it is vacated by Dr. F. S. G. Warman. Dr. James B. Seaton, the new Bishop of Wakefield, was born on March 19, IS6B. He was educated at Leeds Grammar School and at Christ Church, Oxford. His first curacy was at the Oswestry parish church, 1593-96. He was vice-principal of the Leeds Clergy School, 1896-1900: secretary to the Leeds Church Extension Society. 1900-9; vicar of Armley. Leeds. 1905-9: archdeacon of Johannesbury and rector of St. Mary’s. Johannesburg, 1909-14: principal of Cuddlesdon Theological College and vicar of Cuddesdon since 1914: select preacher. University of Oxford 1910-18. and hnn. canon of Christ Church. Oxford. 1922. His pubMcations include “The Comfort of the Holy Ghost.” and “The Mind of Our Lord.” The Bishop-designate of Chelmsford, the Rev. Henry A Wilson, has been rector and rural dean of Cheltenham since 1916. His is hon canon of Gloucester Cathedral, hon. chaplain to the Bishop of Gloucester, and proctor in Convocation. He was born on September 6. 1876 Educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. he entered the Church in 1899 as curate of Christ Church. Hamnstead a position he held until 1904 He was vicar of Norbiton. Kingston-upon-Thames, 1904-IG. He is president of the Cheltenham Conference. He has published several works including “Episcopacy and Unity,” “Faith of a Little Child,” “Creed of a Young Churchman,” “The Master and His Friends” and “At the Lord’s Table.”
