Britain and hedjaz.—The conference between Sir Gilbert Clayton representing- the British Government, Ibn Sand. King of the Hedjaz, and Sultan of Nejd, for a settlement of outstanding questions, lias broken down. Precautions are being taken on Ule Iraq frontier.—A.P.A.-U.S. UNPOPULAR DECISIONS—At a cycling meeting at Ymuiden, Holland, champion, Mazatras, won the Grand Prix of The Hague (800 metres) oy a tyre from J. Standen (Australia). The decision was unpopular, many of the offici%ls expressing the opinion that Standen was really the winner.— A.P.A.-U.S.
