SPORT BREVITIES
What promises to be a first-class game will be staged at Rugby Park when Hamilton meets Morrinsville in the second Peace Cup match of the season. Both teams have about four Waikato representatives included respectively, and it is expected that the visiting side will make a bold bid for the trophy. In conjunction with the big match the senior competition for the Clarke Cup will be continued, Technical Old Boys meeting Marist and City playing Frankton.
An excellent innovation at Athletic Park, the Wellington Rugby headquarters, is a giant time-clock, visible from all parts of the grounds. Operated automatically, it is an adjunct to a new scoring board, and at any stage of the game shows how many minutes are left for play. Allowances are made for any unscheduled stoppages, so that the indicator, the first of its kind to be installed in Australasia, is altogether a very desirable proposition.
