The receipt is acknowledged of the printed programme for the current \ season of the Avondale Jockey Club, j and it will stand the most severe criticism In all, £12,500 is being distributed in stake money—a large amount for four days’ racing—and this sum is almost the same as given last racing year. Improvements continue to be made to the course and appointments at Avondale, and outside patrons at the spring meeting six weeks hence will note with pleasure the concrete terraces built for them. The spring meeting is to be held on Saturday and Monday, September 22 and 24, and the autumn fixture on Saturday and Wednesday, April 6 and 10. The latter gathering is a fortnight earlier than last year, this being due to the fact that Easter Week commences at the end of March.
