FAMOUS ACE KILLED

FRENCH FLYER DROUHIN THREE OTHERS DEAD -United PA.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) PARIS, Thursday. The famous French airman, Lieutenant Maurice Drouhin, was flying yesterday in a long-winged Rainbow plane, when the machine crashed from a height of 500 feet. The engineer, Giavonni, the wireless operator, Manuel, and the mechanic. Lanet, were killed. Lieutenant Drouhin was critically injured and died this morning. He had contemplated attempting a transatlantic flight in the Rainbow’. Although both Lieutenant Drouhin's legs were broken, necessitating injections of morphine to ease his sufferings, his dominating thought before his death was grief that he would not be able to attempt the Atlantic adventure. He asked to be forgiven for what had happened. Another French aviator, M. Couziue% crashed in a monoplane when he was testing it as a preliminary to a transatlantic flight. His mechanic was killed.
