MR. JOINER TO STAND

The Auckland Central seat, now held by Mr. W. Parry (Labour) will be contested by Mr. James Joiner, of Lincoln Street, Ponsonby, as an Independent. Sir. Joiner, who is the son of Captain William Joiner, well-known in Auckland in the early days, is provisional vice-president of the Auckland branch of the Protestant Political Association, and president of the city group. He is also a member of the executive council of the New Zealand Alliance, the City Schools Committee, and the council of the Pitt Street Methodist Church.
