LEARNING TO FLY

AERO CLUB LECTURES The activities of the Auckland Aero Club include two lecture courses wnich will begin next week. Major G. A. C. Cowper, the instructor, will begin the course for pupil members on Tuesday. In five lectures he will deal with the history of aviation, classification of machines, assembly and rigging, theory of flight, cross-country flying, and landinggrounds. Mr. Coe, late of the Royal Flying Corps, will follow with a lecture on aero engines, Major K. Caldwell will speak on stunt flying and aerial warfare, and Captain E. Dickson will devote an evening to questions from novices. The general club lectures will be delivered by legal, medical and technical experts, and they will include aeronautical regulations, physical fitness, navigation, radio, photography, aerodynamics, and meteorology.
