TO JOIN COUNTY
KAMO FARMERS’ CLAIM COMMISSION OF INQUIRY (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. Tho farmer-settlers within the Kamo Town Board northern boundary have secured a commission to inquire into their claim to be included in the Whangarei County. At the monthly meeting this morning, the county council resolved to withdraw its objections to the claim. Cr. J. A. S. McKay said the first consideration should be the welfare of the farmers, and if they would be better off under the county they should be supported strongly in their contention. Cr. Johnston forecast that a new and better road was likely to be made between Whangarei and Kamo, and he thought the time would soon come when Kamo, now only four miles distant, would become part of Whangarei.
