AUCKLAND UNION MEETS PRINCE OF WALES CUP GAME Reports of the final arrangements made for the match on Saturday between the North Auckland and Scuth Auckland Maori sides were made at a meeting of the Rugby Union Management Committee, presided over by Mr. H. Frost last evening. This game is one of a series of trial games for the selection of an Auckland provincial Maori team to play Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Maori side for the Prince of Wales Cup. It was reported that both sides for Saturday’s match contained well-known Maori players, several having represented their various provinces. The careaker of the Showgrounds intimated that he had a quantity of clothing and football gear which had been left in the dressing sheds by players. It was thought that much of this material would belong to players who had complained that their clothes were stolen.
The assistant-selector, Mr. S. deal, reported on a visit to Thames, where he saw several games and players likely to be considered for selection in Auckland representative teams The question of a return match between Auckland and South Auckland was referred to the Match Committee.
A grant of £lO was made to the Takapuna Grammar School toward the expenses of its match against Rotorua High School. The Auckland Grammar School team was granted permission to travel to New Plymouth. The New Zealand Rugby Union advised that it had approved the reinstatement of S. E. Madden and W. R. Young.

REP. MATCH ARRANGEMENTS (From Our Oxen CorrespondentJ TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. Mr. F. Quin presided at the usual weekly meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union on Monday. It was stated that a team from the various schools in the Waipa Union’s territory would be competing in the Roller Milling Company's tourney at Auckland on August 18. Paeroa is the present holder, and competition is confined to country districts and centres. It was decided to donate £5 toward the expenses of the boys’ trip to Auckland. At the request of the Waikato Union for three referees. Waipa nominated the following to control the Binnie Cup challenge match. Hamilton City v. Te Awamutu Rovers on August 18: Messrs. D. Freeman (Te Awamutu), J. Gasparich (Putaruru) and A. R. Thomas (Cambridge). The offer was accepted from the Franklin Power Board Club for a match against a Waipa B representative or the champion club team on August 25. It was decided to arrange for the Waipa v. Otorohanga senior representative match at Te Awamutu on Saturday, August 18, the same day as the Binnie Cup contest between Rovers (Waipa) and City (Hamilton) teams.
