Temperature in shade yesterday: Maximum, 56deg.; minimum, 41deg.; maximum temperature in sun, 119 deg. Bright sunshine yesterday, 9 hours 10 minutes. Minimum temperature on grass, 35deg. Direction of wind at 9 a.m., S.S.W. Velocity of wind previous 24 hours, 8G during previous 24 hours, nil. Rainfall to date this month, ,4Sin. Average for August, 4.07 in. north island conditions
