MANUKA TO RESUME.—The Union Company s Manuka, which is now undergoing her extensive overhaul and survey at Port Ghauners, is to resume her running in the Melbourne passenger service toward the end of this month. The vessel is scheduled to leave Dunedin on August 23 for Melbourne, via Lyttelton and Wellington, and will leave Wellington on August 25. SUSSEX LEAVES CALCUTTA.—CabIe advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Federal steamer Sussex, which is under charter to the Union Company, left Calcutta last Tuesday morning via Penang, Singapore and Samarang for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff, rhe vessel is expected to arrive at Auckland about the middle of September. COPTIC AT COLON.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s new motor-ship Coptic, which is on her maiden voyage, vt r ®P° r ted to have reached Colon last Monday en route from Liverpool to New Zealand. The vessel has general merchandise from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on August 27. A. S.
