HINDU SENT TO GAOL (From Our Own Correspondent) TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. | An Indian, l>ulla Ram. who appeared 'on remand, on a charge of theft of €4O from Mika and €l2 from Gangu, fellow-countrymen, was brought before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M.. in the Police Court yesterday. Accused admitted the offence and asked for leniency, offering to make restitution. The magistrate said accused was a thoroughly dishonest man. He had . robbed two industrious men who had | .isked him to bank their money, so that ; they would not have to lose a day’s work. For the theft of €l2 accused was sentenced to throe months’ hard I labour. For stealing the €4O he was admitted to two years’ probation. Rt stitution is to be made at the rat* j of € 4 a month.
