MAJESTIC
TWO FEATURES TO-MORROW
Lots of fun and laughter will go with the new programme which commences at the Majestic to-morrow. Heading the bill is “Circus Rookies,” a comedy romance of the circus ring, starring those two popular comedians, Karl Dane and George K. Arthur. Dane plays an animal trainer and Arthur a Press agent. A complete circus was installed, with professional circus performers from different shows appearing with the screen and staging an elaborate circus performance. Louise Lorraine plays the heroine, who falls in love with Arthur and thus incites the jealousy of the big animal trainer. Thrilling adventures with a great trained gorilla, a wild chase over a moving circus train and other thrills vie with laughs, and through the story runs a pretty romance. Another dose of fun is Madge Bellamy’s latest comedy, “Soft Living.” in which Johnny Mack Brown demonstrates successfully how cave man tactics can cure the naughtiest wife.l Miss Bellamy is cast as Nancy Woods, a secretary of a famous attorney, and she secures her weekly cheque on the lawyer’s reapings of alimony from unfortunate husbands. Nancy finally comes to the conclusion that she would like the entire cheque of some cast-off husband for herself. She marries Stockney Webb, a millionaire lumber king, and thinks she will have soft living. But Webb discovers her intentions, and the situations from then on are novel and hilarious, and finally comes to a dramatic climax when Nancy discovers that it is her husband she loves and not his money. Mr. Whiteford Waugh and his Majestic Orchestra have arranged another fine musical programme. The interlude will be Laval’s overture to “Joan of Arc.” A topical budget of the world’s latest news will complete an excellent progfimme.
