NANKING INCIDENT
BRITAIN AND CHINA REACH AGREEMENT
BIG NATIONALIST CONFERENCE (Australian Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a_m. SHANGHAI, Wed. Peking reports that an agreement has been reached between Great Britain and China regarding the Nanking incident and is ready for signature. The fifth plenary session of the Kuomintang (National Party) has opened at Nanking. foUowing a personal round-up of members in Shanghai by Marshal Chiang Kai-shek. Today’s proceedings included the inauguration ceremony, discussion of the date of the State burial of Sun Yat-sen. and of the payment of bonuses to officers participating in the successful antiNorthern expedition. The agenda is believed to include important Sino-foreign questions—principally of treaty revision. The progress of the conference is being closely watched by diplomatic representatives.
