TRUE SPORT

Envious Germans EFFECT OF A LETTER LOWE TO PELTZER (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) BERLIN, Sunday. Germans were surprised at British psychology when they saw the heroism of their own sailors presented in the British film depicting the Falkland Battle. Now they have been completely overwhelmed by a letter from the British Olympic runner, D. G. A. Lowe, and his companions, written to Dr. Otto Peltzer. The writers say they regret that Dr. Peltzer’s illness prevented the German champion from showing his best form at Amsterdam. The effect cf the letter has been startling. The newspaper “Vossiche Zeitung” says: “We might envy these gentlemen, for no doubt we should never have thought of this beautiful gesture. There is a fundamental difference between British and German sport. In Britain sport always remains a game. Here it has become a national affair.”
