EMPIRE DISSATISFIED
BRITISH GAMES WANTED MANY COMPLAINTS MADE (United Service) Reed. 10.50 a.m. LONDON, Monday. An important development, aiming at the inauguration of periodical Empire Games, to be held in Britain and the different Dominions, has resulted from a meeting of managers and officials of the British teams.
The meeting lasted for five hours, and was characterised by the strongest criticism of the arrangements and control of the present Olympic Games. A Canadian particularly instanced that the interpretation of some of the rules was entirely opposed to British ideals, and also complained of favoured nations, including the United States, breaking the rules. These were only cautioned, whereas the Canadians were disqualified. The arena was filled with officials of the more favoured nations and the Dutch Olympic officials.
