ELECTRICITY FOR ONERAHI A deputation from the Onerahi Town Board, supported by the Whangarei Harbour Board, waited on the Borough Council last evening requesting that body to apply to the Minister to extend its electric power licence to include the Onerahi town area ar.d wharf, which js said to have about 100 possible consumers. Mr. J. E. Holmes, chairman of the Town Board, said that Grahamstown, the former name of Onerahi, was included in the original licence for the borough, as it was then constituted, but it had made many extensions outside the boundaries. A new licence was granted in 1921 to include these additional areas, but Grahamstown was omitted. The residents now asked if 14 per cent, return could be guaranteed from the area, the supply would be connected.
The Mayor, Mr. L. J. Brake, moved that application be made as requested, so that the Borough Council could be in a position to negotiate. This was carried.
