ISLAND QUEEN OPENS PARLIAMENT.—Every year in Nukualofa Queen Salote of Tonga opens the little Parliament of her kingdom. It is a State occasion and the Queen in robes of ceremony drives from her palace between rows of her loyal subjects. This photograph arrived on the Tofua yesterday.
FOLLOWING FATHER’S FOOTSTEPS.—Chang Hsieuh - Liang, 26-year-old son of the late War Lord Chang Tso-Lin has taken over command of his father’s Manchurian forces.
