Sidey said to-day he was assured there would be no great difficulty in the matter of Post Office time. The post office clocks exposed to the public would have to conform with local time. There would be adjustments reauired in the railway time-table, but that would be so under any system of local summertime whether by advancin gthe clock or not. The difficulties in the way of the introduction of a voluntary scheme were so great that those who had been considering the question felt legislation was necessary if local schemes were to be satisfactorily and successfully introduced.
